The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the accident occurred on a rain-slicked road near U.S. Highway 281. Initial investigations reveal that the driver of a utility van was traveling south when a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction veered into the southbound lane. The pickup truck, that had a driver and a passenger, slammed into the utility van, causing the van to overturn. Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of the highway, at which point a tractor-trailer swiped the van, causing it to slide further down the road, ejecting the driver. The driver of the pickup and the van both died at the accident scene. The pickup truck’s passenger suffered serious injuries.
